First of all, Stanley FTW! I've been wondering what the deal is with scraps. Thanks for sharing. The way I see it, it's a good option to get your hands on some proper leather. However, I live in Bulgaria and I don't get free shipment from serious sites, so the price goes up considerably, and at that point I'm better off doing a bit of planning and ordering a whole/half hide, than being dependent on the surfaces I get from the loot box. It would kill me to touch this beautiful leather and know that I can't make a bag out of it because there is no piece big enough in the bundle. How do you keep track of all these pieces? I tend to forget what I have in my single tiny box of scraps. Or do you just rummage through them between projects until the new idea dawns on you?

Yes. Definitely worth it. You can make thousands of dollars worth of product out of that leather.

I have carried a Saddleback bifold wallet every day for almost fifteen years. A few months ago, I noticed some of the stitching had frayed and the leather had worn in the same spot. This is in a high use, high wear location on the wallet. I emailed them a picture and asked if it could be repaired (even though the wallet is still 100% useable). They wrote back they didn't think it was, verified my shipping address, and sent me a brand-new wallet FREE OF CHARGE because after all, part of what you're waying for with them is their 100 year warranty.

This doesn't work, I've tried four different metal boxes and even a big thick roasting pan and my keyfobs still work :/

I checked at Hobby lobby here in Nashville Tennessee yesterday (3/5/22) and a very small bundle of ends and pieces was $79.99 !!! You got at least 4 or maybe even 5X's more leather !! I would definitely "pull" the trigger as you say on any of these !!!! Excellent video !

I just looked at Buckleguy for their scrap bundles. As of three days ago, they had 2.5 - 6 oz leather scraps in lots of varieties and colors. Today, they do not. Everything now is 10-12 oz. No skiver. No splitter. Oh well.
